Quintet

Petter Dalane Quintet is a new band consisting of five musicians who, since meeting in 2017, have played together extensively in groups such as Cosmic Swing Orchestra, Barrage, ØyvindLand, Petter Dalane Sextet, and Get Your Goat. The band released their debut album “Quintet” in April 2024.

Without any intention of being a revival band that reverently worships old heroes, there is little doubt that there are many older jazz references present in this music. The playful, unpolished, and almost raucous interplay characterizes the band's sound, stemming from both aesthetic preferences and the complexity of the song material.
